Winstrol, commonly known as “Vinny”, is an anabolic steroid with moderate androgenic effects and has the added benefit of not being able to convert to estrogen. Nolvadex or other anti-estrogens are not needed unless other aromatising steroids are added together.

Other steroids that athletes successfully combine with Winstrol while preparing for competition include Masteron (Drostanolone), Equipoise (Boldenone), Oxandrolone (Anavar), Testosterone Propionate, Rimobolan and Growth Hormone. Combined with a low calorie, protein rich diet, Winstrol provides solid growth in raw muscle mass and overall appearance. The gains in strength and muscle mass are also well maintained after the course is discontinued.

Another point related to Winstrol is its alleged anti-progesterone effects. It is claimed that Winstrol binds to and competes for position on the progesterone receptor in almost the same way that clomid or nolvadex do on the estrogen receptor. This is said to cause Winstrol to inhibit the effects of progesterone. Progesterone does play a role in the development of gynaecomastia, as it can exacerbate estrogen side effects by agonising estrogen, and also plays a role in the formation of gynaecomastia. Winstrol combines well with (amongst others) Deca, giving good sustained gains with low side effects.

Winstrol is usually not used as the only steroid during dieting because, based on its low androgenic component, it does not reliably protect the athlete from muscle tissue loss. The lack of a pronounced androgenic effect is often compensated for by the combined use of trenbolone at 50-75 mg every 1-2 days with a concomitant intake of 50 mg of vinstrol daily.

Although there is no scientific evidence of a special combined effect of Winstrol and Trenbolone, based on several practical examples, a synergistic effect seems likely.

Side effects with Winstrol are rare and usually occur with high doses or prolonged use.

The usual dose of Winstrol for men is 30-50 mg per day.

For women it is much lower, a maximum of 5-20 mg per day due to the risk of virilisation side effects.
